About me
Hi, I’m Kata
I’m a Spanish creative currently living in Osaka, Japan. I’m passionate about Japanese culture, language, and everyday life here. This website is where I share my experiences, reflections, and practical insights about living in Japan.
My Story
Japan had always intrigued me — its blend of tradition and modernity, its aesthetics, and its unique way of life. But I didn’t fully learn Japanese before coming here. In fact, most of my Japanese journey started after I arrived in Japan.
Living here pushed me to step outside my comfort zone, attend language classes, join exchanges, and practice every day in real-life situations. Learning the language while living in the country has been challenging, but also deeply rewarding.
Osaka is now home — a city full of energy, personality, and hidden corners that I love exploring.
What I Do
I’m a Data Engineer by profession, with experience helping companies transform raw data into meaningful insights.
At the moment, I’m taking time to focus on personal growth, improving my Japanese, deepening my cultural understanding, and exploring new creative directions.
Beyond tech, I practice Shodō (Japanese calligraphy), explore fashion (from streetwear to elegant styles), and document my life and discoveries in Japan.
My Interests
Japanese calligraphy (Shodō)
Language learning and cultural immersion
Streetwear & elegant fashion
Cinema and series (mostly in English)
Exploring cities, cafés, and everyday Japan
My Philosophy
I believe growth comes from discomfort. Moving to Japan, learning the language on the ground, and building a life here has taught me patience, humility, and resilience.
Every day is a small step forward — and this website is part of that journey.
